Complex websites that are 99% bug-free !

Let me tell you something : Everybody [read coders] who tells you that can provide a 100% bug-free application in my humble opinion is a liar, or maybe you and me we have a different sense for word bug :-))

So, because no work is perfect, we can try to get the perfection in our projects and a high standard of quality. For this stands our clients satisfaction.

What do we know ?

There are some technologies that we know very well, the inconvenience is that your competitors might already use those technologies. Developing a website is a complex, challenging and of course f u n task, so if you have tried before and didn't find the fun element is time to get a free consulatation from us today !

GISAn acronym that stands for Geographical Information Systems, is our starting `point`. Two members of our team have GIS/cartography/mapping knowledge from the college, so in other words they know the science of how to add your datasets in a mapping enviroment - on a map. We have experience with several GIS softwares like : ArcGIS 9.x, Geomedia 5.x, ArcView 3.2, MapInfo, ER Mapper, etc.

PHPA recursive acronym that stands for PHP:Hypertext Preprocessor is a programming language that we have started, in fact we were forced to in order to make our web-applications work smoother. So, instead of writing tons and tons of HTML code and writing complicated JavaScript client-side routines (visible to all), we are using PHP to generate the HTML code on server-side (visible only to developer) and during the time we have enhaced the code from project to project.

MySQLA Database management system that we are using for storing the websites data. We've learned first MsAccess and SQL and then we have used PHP knowledge to design our own MySql wrappers(database connector). We also use other databases in the development like PostgreSQL with PostGIS spatial extension.

So, we have learned GIS and PHP/MySQL but how we have related them ? Many of the applications we have used for managing GIS data came with several 'web server' CGI-applications that never satisfied us from the point-of-view of the quality. That's why we have decided to make the CGI part for our projects using PHP/MySQL and JavaScript. We have learned how to convert the geographical data using online geographical converters, own-written geospatial routines and complex manipulation softwares like FME

However the real starting point for doing mixed webmapping application was when Google Maps were launched. After learning their API (JavaScript) was a simple step to implement them in the 'mashup' applications. At the begining we were using simple JavaScript code but with a complex application we were forced to learn something new and this is ...

AJAXAn acronym that stands for Asynchronous JavaScript and XML and helped us to add to our web-map interfaces the feature of not refreshing the webpage when the visitor wants to see some special data but to send/receive data to server transparently.

Bottom line, this is the webgis.ro team oddisey and to draw a conclusion we can say we know GIS / PHP / MySQL / HTML / CSS / JavaScript / AJAX / Images handling. To see them in action you just need to browse our portfolio and if you think you need these technologies on your business do not hesitate to contact us now !

Railway network project !

We have developed 2 network web-application. Both are with trains transportation system. One is with switzerland trains - swisstrains.ch and one with romanian trains - cfr.webgis.ro Why don't you contact us to get a free consultation for implementing a tracking system for your network ? (any kind of networks - social, industrial, transportation, etc !)
