About Vasile Cotovanu

 Youngest member of the team, the founder of WEBGIS developers team. He graduated Faculty of Geodesy in Bucharest, in 2002, with a GIS/Mapping application for his project diploma. During college, working at a CATV station, he had his first contact with the internet. Of course he used internet for fun in the begining (mirc, sub7, making money by clicking-on-banners, network games, etc) but after that he started to learn HTML, CSS, etc. He even designed/made his first webgallery (static HTML of course).
The PHP 'call' came in 2000-2001 when he helped the administrators of ALPINET Project on minor issues (html changes, publishing articles, etc). After some long nights reading PHP chm manual chapters he was able to do his php-driven gallery - carpati mountains - not updated ever since :-) Ok, a simple annotation : he is a mountaineer, he likes photography and trekking.
After graduation he was technical assistant at a cadastral/GIS company for approx. 2 years. Though he had some interesting projects there, even a php-mapping project, he took a major decision by leaving and turning to IT. Since 2004 he developed and fulfilled a lot of projects, that can be seen on portfolio section. However currently he _is not_ involved in the WebGIS projects anymore.
